Transformer conservator function:
The conservator is a critical component for oil-filled transformers, including our oil immersed grounding transformer and standard distribution units, available in conventional and corrugated types. When transformer oil expands or contracts with temperature fluctuations, the conservator acts as a storage and replenishment device, ensuring the oil tank remains fully filled at all times. This function is vital for maintaining insulation and heat dissipation performance, whether for a 1.5 MVA distribution grounding transformer or a heavy-duty distribution grounding transformer. Typically, the conservator volume accounts for 8%–10% of the transformer’s total oil content, a specification we strictly follow for all our oil immersed grounding transformer and distribution products.
