DHP Circuit Breaker Description
The protection and management of MV/LV transformers in rural areas require specialized pole mounted Circuit Breaker solutions, and the DHP Circuit Breaker is engineered specifically to address significant load imbalances, ensuring full utilization of installed power even under unbalanced conditions. This integrated solution combines a pole mounted Circuit Breaker unit with an intelligent trip system, delivering reliable performance for rural power distribution networks.
DHP Circuit Breaker Core Components
- DHP Circuit Breaker Enclosure:The DHP Circuit Breaker features a 4-pole design (with 3 poles protected), utilizing air interruption and metal-partition arc chambers for efficient arc quenching. As a dedicated pole mounted Circuit Breaker, it is designed for outdoor rural environments, with a weather-resistant fiberglass-reinforced polyester enclosure that withstands rain, dust, and temperature fluctuations. When the DHP Circuit Breaker is open, a dedicated contact establishes a secure electrical connection between the transformer’s neutral and the system ground. When closed, an integrated spark gap limits the potential rise of the low-voltage (LV) neutral relative to ground to over 10 kV, eliminating risks of overvoltage damage in rural power grids.
- pole mounted Circuit Breaker Digital Trip Units:Paired with the pole mounted Circuit Breaker, the Digital Trip Unit provides precise protection for transformer ratings of 50 kVA or 100 kVA, compatible with both conventional transformers (without internal protection) and new transformers with integrated protection (TPC).A selector switch on the DHP Circuit Breaker allows users to set the appropriate transformer protection rating. The microcontroller continuously estimates the transformer’s probable temperature by analyzing three-phase currents and external ambient temperature—calculated via a sensor and a mathematical model that incorporates current data for compensation. If this Digital Trip Unit is integrated into an older-generation pole mounted Circuit Breaker, the load integrator function (if present) will be deactivated to ensure compatibility.
DHP Circuit Breaker Features
- Unbalanced Load Handling:The DHP Circuit Breaker is optimized for rural power grids, managing significant load imbalances to ensure full utilization of installed power, a critical advantage for pole mounted Circuit Breaker in remote areas.
- Dual Protection Mechanism:The pole mounted Circuit Breaker combines arc quenching with neutral-to-ground protection, while the Digital Trip Unit adds temperature-based overload protection, creating a multi-layered safety system.
- Rural Environment Resilience:The DHP Circuit Breaker’s fiberglass-reinforced polyester enclosure is weather-resistant and corrosion-proof, ensuring reliable operation in dusty, humid, and temperature-variable rural conditions.
- Flexible Compatibility:The pole mounted Circuit Breaker works with both legacy and modern transformers, supporting TPC-integrated units, which reduces the need for full equipment replacement in rural grid upgrades.
